Description
This species is a nocturnal, roaming hunter found in sandy mallee habitat in SA’s northern mallee. This species sits on open sand with the body very low to the ground and legs fully splayed. When disturbed it takes off with blazing speed into the nearest patch of leaf litter or ascends a bush. They are rather hard to see against sandy mallee soil.
We’d recommend coco peat as substrate for this species, ensure it has some moisture content but certainly not enough you can squeeze water out of it. you should be able to feel moisture in it but not have moist/wet hands after touching it. Any size enclosure is find, ranging from a small 10×10 enclosure to a 30×30 enclosure. During the day this species buries itself in the substrate, making a little bubble for themselves.
