Description
Our Tall Bug Box is very versatile. It can be used vertically for jumping spiders, mantises etc or horizontally for ground dwelling inverts. This enclosure is suitable for all mantises – all the way to adulthood as well.
This kit has been specifically designed for mantises. They need to be able to grip to the sides of the enclosure which aids them in catching their prey as well as clinging space for molting. To help with this process we attach mesh on four sides of the enclosure: The top, and three sides (not including the door). The mesh needs to be attached at least 2cm off the ground level so that crickets can’t climb the mesh. You don’t want the cricket to be able to interfere or hurt the mantis when he is molting.
In this kit we glue the mesh to the enclosure sides using hot glue. If you would like to glue this yourself, please let us know at checkout. You may want to provide a bark climbing piece and a fake plant as well, just make sure the mantis has some free space to hang from the ceiling to molt without any interference of accessories.

To avoid warping : Acrylic is not suitable for bio-active setups as the humidity levels could cause the edges of the doors to warp. Direct sunlight should also be avoided for this reason. Never saturate the walls when misting.

These Bug Boxes are absolutely beautiful. They are a decend size and look neat. My Mantis loves the box, and so does her food! It arrived well packaged. Comes with two big rubber ties, in case it deforms in too much heat (from sitting in the sun at a window for example). It has lockable latches at the side and a magnetic catch. The Big Box is very light weight. Its one of the best Insect Enclosures out there, if not the Best! 10 out of 10. Love it!
