Description
This is a very, very well camouflaged species of crab spider that is found around Adelaide and probably elsewhere. They inhabit Eucalyptus trees with dark, rough bark that makes them literally invisible against it. This species grows to 12mm in length and sits with its “elbows” out when at rest but can be quite fast when disturbed, revealing long, spiny legs. Crab spiders have small fangs, a timid temperament and weak venom.
