Description

Merulana helmsiana is a large, rather flattened native isopod found primarily on tree bark in NSW and some parts of Victoria. Like most native isopods they are very variable in colouration but most specimens are dark grey with a red fringe around the body. They also develop small white speckles as they age, this is usually not present in juveniles.

    Isopods arrived quickly and alive. They are adorable and have taken well to their new terrarium home. The Red Fringed Isopods are medium-sized and more flat than other isopods I’ve owned. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend Bug Frenzy to anyone seeking new insect friends.
