Description
This wolf spider is a nocturnal, wandering inhabitant of clay pans in SA’s northern mallee. It is a medium-large wolf spider, growing up to 2.5cm in body length.
These spiders need desert sand or clay as substrate, with sand preferable. A depth of 5-6cm is ample. On one side of the enclosure there must be a lot of ventilation and a bark hide, and the other side very little or none with another piece of bark. On the non-ventilated end the sand must be moist. This creates a moisture gradient which allows the spider to find a suitable microhabitat within the enclosure.
