Description
This incredibly well camouflaged grasshopper is found in central Australian sand dunes, where they rest on the surface during the day and feed at night. We do not know what they feed on in the wild, but in captivity will take various species of introduced grasses found in agricultural areas (Not lawn grass). Keep one corner of their sandy enclosure moist at all times and just add some cut blades or fresh shoots of grass to the enclosure every 2 days. The ideal sand for these is red desert sand. They don’t bite and can be handled but may jump away without warning, they’re not very friendly.
