100g Vermiculite

(8 customer reviews)

$3.50

An essential ingredient for burrowing invertebrates.

Description

For the perfect tarantula mix you will need:

  • 8 parts cocopeat
  • 1 part clay
  • 1 part vermiculite

Vermiculite assists in the retention of moisture in the soil as well as creating little air pockets, and helping the soil to hold its structure when a spider burrows in it.  It is really good to use for any burrowing insect as a mix-in in the current substrate to lighten the weight, and add texture to the soil.

Great addition to your plain old substrate!
Helps structural webbing for burrowing T’s and definitely helps keep moisture levels high when needed.
I have also added a little to my semi arid jumper enclosures (dry 80-90% of the year) it seems to have really encouraged them to make sleeping sacks under the sand and between rocks, FANTASTIC : )
