Description
This is a species of Anamid trapdoor/wishbone spider in the genus Proshermacha and is found in the mount lofty ranges, in 3-chambered burrows in clay soils with a silk covering in the day. This species grows up to 35mm in body length are quite long-legged.
They are mainly black in colouration and are covered in a thick coating of metallic silver – gold hairs. Proshermacha like to live in clay embankments and use very heavy silk lining on the interior of the burrow. Younger individuals can often be found inside rotting logs.
