Description
Darkling beetles (Tenebrionidae) are a diverese family of detritivirous (feeds on decaying organic matter, such as leaves and pieces of wood) beetles. The common mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) and the Superworm (Zophobas morio) are the larval stages of 2 different species of darkling beetle, respectively. These beetles can be housed with millipedes and get along fine, they are innofensive and incapable of biting. This species also do not secrete chemicals. All tenebrionids have pale, mealworm-like larvae that tunnel through the soil also eating detritus. They can be fed darkling beetle food (coming soon!) as well as a fresh piece of vegetable half buried in the substrate twice a week, remove any uneaten food after 2 days.
These beetles are about 10mm long.
*Sold in a pack of 5, they are perfectly fine in groups*
