Description
Mainland Australia’s largest centipede species.
Western Australian tiger form
Locality: Southern WA
Species maximum size: 230mm
Locale maximum size: 150mm
Features: This locality display black and orange colouration similar to eastern australian tiger forms. Unlike those from Eastern australia, these centipedes fade to all black towards the head and are significantly smaller.
E. rubripes are hardy and do well on slightly moist coco-peat substrate in a sealed container. An enclosure must have a good, tight fitting lid and should be large enough to allow the centipede to fully stretch out. You may wish to prevent the centipede from burrowing, use shallow and compacted substrate. Forms from drier locations may be suspectable to mycosis and could benefit from some ventilation.
