Giant green jumping spider (Mopsus mormon) Captive Bred Juvenile

(17 customer reviews)

Possibly our most handsome jumper!

Out of stock

This is possibly our largest jumping spider in Australia – reaching 18mm in body length and is only rivalled by a few others, such as Bavia aericeps.

They are usually a bright green in colour but can be yellow or orange. Females have red spots bordered by white on top of their heads, while males have a fringe of hair around the face that gives them a “monkey face” appearance. Juveniles are lemon-yellow or bright green.

These juveniles are quite fragile and will bite if mishandled. We don’t recommend handling these small juvies as they can easily get hurt.

  • Currently eating pinhead crickets and fruit flies

*unsexed green juveniles available*

*photos also shows yellow form, but this batch is bright green

Enclosure: We recommend the mini bug box with jumper kit

This is maybe the prettiest jumper I have ever seen (and I’ve seen a Maratus volans in the wild before!). Absolutely gorgeous colour, almost luminous, reminds me of melon ramune soda so I have named them Melon. Extremely energetic and curious, seems to jump far more than any jumper I’ve ever had and rarely seems to sit still. I am so happy with this lively little critter and excited to see whether they grow up into an elegant green lady or a silly monkey guy!
