Description
Selenotholus, otherwise known as Feather-Legged Tarantulas due to their thick setae on the legs are smaller tarantulas than Phlogius and are found in arid areas. They inhabit deep burrows with minimal webbing around it. This species is found in Western NSW mallee and when mature can be quite defensive.
While they are found in arid areas, they burrow to an area where it is moist so they need to be kept on moist coco peat.
WARNING : Tarantulas have tarsal claws and scopula pads and can climb plastic and glass, be careful.
Optional kit includes
- mini clearview enclosure
- Tarantula substrate
- faux plants

Arrived in Vic fast and safe. Healthy lil guy (or girl!), been eating fine, wasn’t long before I could see webbing around the burrow entrance! Great little enclosure to start off with. I prefer live plants to plastic ones, so added some washed moss, and later some leaf litter and springtails. Plastic plants are still fine for now to give some vertically.
And most importantly, fantastic support from the staff with all my “new to tarantulas” questions!!
