A member of the water spider family, Pisauridae, these medium-sized, green and graceful spiders inhabit rainforest from Indonesia to Far North Queensland. These spiders construct a silken pad over a large leaf on which they sit, mainly preying on small flies. In captivity they should be provided with a large plastic or real leaf to sit on, and small crickets should be tossed onto the web otherwise the spider may not eat.
