Description

A large, hardy centipede found across southern and eastern Australia.

Locality/form: Blue leg, WA

Size: Large (up to 130mm)

Description:

  • Tergites dark reddish brown, with the hind margin of each tergite bearing a darker band, cephalic region darker brown, lateral membrane black, underside lighter.
  • Coxa, trochanter and prefemur of leg light yellowish orange, the rest of the segments shifting to light blue.
  • Terminal legs reddish, moderately long and robust. Antennae dark blue.
  • Young juveniles with main body dark blue, with a red terminal segment and cephalic plate.
