School Holiday Bug Workshops – 10 October
Subi Space, Subiaco | 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Join Bug Frenzy for a fun, educational school-holiday afternoon packed with live insects and arachnids!
Children will get up close with a variety of fascinating Australian bugs, learn how they live and why they matter, and (in the package option) build and take home their very own bioactive isopod enclosure.
All sessions are designed especially for kids, with plenty of hands-on opportunities, simple explanations, and a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. No previous experience needed — just curiosity!
Bugs + Isopods Package
Beautiful Bugs Presentation + Isopod Bioactive Workshop
Time: 12:45 pm – 2:30 pm
Age: Best suited to children 6–12 years
Price: $90 per child
Join us for a fun, hands-on afternoon with live insects and arachnids!
Your child will first meet a range of fascinating Australian bugs in our Beautiful Bugs presentation — see them up close, learn cool facts, and have the chance for safe, supervised interaction.
Then they’ll create their very own bioactive isopod enclosure. We’ll talk about these amazing little “cleanup crew” creatures, build a living mini-ecosystem together, and each child will choose their own isopods to take home.
Everything needed is provided. Kids leave with their new isopod home, a simple care sheet, and plenty of new knowledge and confidence.
Perfect as a complete school-holiday experience!
Beautiful Bugs Only (Standalone Session)
Time: 2:45 pm – 3:30 pm
Age: Best suited to children 6–12 years
Price: $30 per child
A shorter, stand-alone session for children who just want to meet the bugs!
In this relaxed presentation, kids will see a variety of live insects and arachnids up close, learn interesting facts about their behaviour and role in nature, and have the opportunity for safe, supervised interaction.
No building or take-home animals in this session — just pure bug appreciation, questions, and discovery.
Ideal if your child is curious about insects but isn’t ready for a full workshop, or if you’d like a shorter afternoon activity.
