Description
This very large predacious predatory beetle (Carabidae) is found under and in rotting logs around Adelaide, SA.
They are nocturnal and use their large serrated jaws to dismember and consume small insects. Fruit such as halved grapes and honeydew melon are a great supplement, offer every 7-10 days and remove after 24 hours.
Males 20-30mm
Females 25-35mm.
