Description

Cytaea plumbeiventris is named after the silver sheen on the underside of an adult specimens abdomen, though this is not always present. They are medium-sized and found in tropical northern Australia, often on broad-leaved or strap-leaved plants.

“Plumbeiventris” translates roughly to “lead belly” in latin. Females are light brown to rose-gold in colour with a series of thin dark chevrons across the body.

This juvie’s leg will grow back with the next molt. (Not pictured)
