Description
These medium-sized wolf spiders are found at night on sand dunes in South Australia’s Far northern region. In the day they construct a silk sac with integrated sand and bury themselves beneath the surface.
They are well camouflaged on the sand and when found at night they tend to freeze and stretch out their legs to break up their outline rather than run or hide.
Care is simple – a container around 15x20cm with one side of the enclosure cross-ventilated and the other devoid of ventilation. Keep a corner of the red desert sand moist at all times and the other, ventilated area dry.
Adult female body length 20mm.
Sold as unsexed juvenile
