Oxyopes variabilis is found across most of southern and eastern Australia and can be found on green plants, usually On Allium and Agapanthus species plants.
They are very capable jumpers and have modified hairs on all legs used to impale prey.
They are mildly venomous and timid, but can be very fast and active.
