Lid-building wolf

Out of stock

Description

These wolf spiders are found throughout southern and eastern Australia, where they build burrows with fairly thin lids in hard, compacted soils. The lids are very difficult to see when closed and the spiders often encrust them with rocks and debris. Adults are around 25mm in length making them some of the larger wolf spiders, the juveniles are more patterned than the adults which are often light grey with dark spots on the abdomen, legs and cephalothorax.

They require clay-based substrate to form their burrows and lids.
