Description
These small, timid spiders are found on trees throughout australia, although some of the arid species mimic red rocks. Their spinnerets (butt rope/ silk makers) are elongated and protrude from the abdomen so far they look like tails. This helps them make big swathes of silk to entrap prey, as once it is detected they run around the prey and tie it down with silk as they have tiny fangs and weak venom. They are fast but cannot climb smooth plastic, due to their timid nature and weak venom they are an excellent choice for handling, almost like a mini huntsman! grows to 6mm in length (not including spinnerets)
