Description

This species of very large (15mm bodylength) ant spider is found in the Mount lofty ranges where it builds a burrow with a tower made of substrate and leaves, that comes out about 10cm from the ground.

These Gladiator Spiders can be quite defensive, rearing up and biting if disturbed too much when they’re out of their burrow, which is unusual for ant spiders.
