Description
This peculiar millipede varies in size based on location, with those from the eastern and northern parts of the range being very much smaller than those from the central and western parts of the range. This form reaches 50mm in length, and can be black, brown or white. They have a distinctive armoured appearance to them. Important: These millipedes should be kept individually, this species can secrete Hydrogen cyanide as a defensive chemical, and adult millipedes will try and mate with any other millipedes they come across, and this stresses them out until the millipedes secrete the chemical and kill everything around them, including themselves. Female millipedes usually die a few days after laying eggs, which may take a few months to hatch, males seem to live longer, for several breeding seasons.
