Description
Hoggicosa forresti is a very large wolf spider with a wide distribution across the deserts of WA and SA. This species constructs a lidded burrow in the wild and sometimes will use a small rock or pebble instead of a lid, which provides excellent camouflage in the dry stony habitats they prefer. This species is cream coloured with jet black patches on the legs and abdomen, similar to Hoggicosa bicolor. This species reaches approximately 40mm in length and 80mm in legspan, making it one of the largest wolf spiders in the world.
