Description
These stunning native millipedes feature predominantly white body with older individuals have more of a red-brown head and “neck” area. They are native to the Adelaide area but are now rare and have patchy populations due to the invasive Portuguese millipedes.
They are a member of the family Paradoxsomatidae and have flat, square-ish body segments and are small in size, reaching a maximum size of 4-5cm.
Millipedes feed on decaying organic matter such as fallen, decomposing leaves and wood, lichen and will also eat bits of vegetable like carrot.
