Description

Scolopendra morsitans is the second largest centipede species in Australia, size and colouration varies across the species’ range, with the largest forms reaching over 18cm in length. This attractively coloured form is from inland SA and is recognisable by the bright red legs and greenish terminal legs. Scolopendra morsitans are difficult to keep long term and are not suitable for beginners. They are susceptible to fungal infections caused by high humidity and must be kept in a dry, ventilated enclosure with constant access to a scoria-filled water dish.
