Description
This species of Ground beetle in the family Carabidae has shorter, more robust mandibles than most other species, suggesting more of an omnivorous diet instead of predatory like other species. They are found under rocks in SA bushland. Ground beetles are often found in pairs, presumably male and female. This species grows to 25mm in length. They can be fed live or freshly dead crickets 1/4th their size and a piece of soft, tropical fruit like mango or banana twice a week.
