Description
This is an undescribed species of spider-hunting scorpion found in SA’s southern flinders ranges. As the name suggests they are medium-sized specialist predators of burrowing spiders and have stunning black and orange colouration. Isometroides are difficult to keep and are not suitable for beginners. They are susceptible to fungal infections when humidity is too high and also dessicate easily if its too dry. They should be kept in a well ventilated enclosure where one corner is kept permanently moist, and the rest of the enclosure is dry. A shallow water dish with scoria should be included and kept filled at all times. Isometroides will feed on crickets in captivity.
