Description
This large, Black-brown wishbone spider is found in coastal mallee north of Adelaide, SA. They are almost entirely black however the first 2 segments of the legs appear to be quite red. The abdomen is dark brown with a darker mark across the middle. They build deep burrows in hard clay with a slightly raised entrance. This species has long legs and uses them to great effect, they are very fast when disturbed. Often this species will build a fully formed burrow complete with swathes of webbing and then choose to sit outside of the burrow the hole day for no apparent reason, but this makes them easy to look at and also great eaters, any cricket dropped will be immediately pounced upon.

Beautiful little spider, had burrow built overnight and feeding the next day. Very fast and aggressive when first moved into new enclosure. Likes to sit outside entrance to burrow. 👀👌
