Description
Paraoxypilus are small bark-dwelling mantises found throughout australia where several species are present. Paraoxypilus are active hunters and eagerly chase down prey whenever they see them. As a defence method they often start waving their raptorial forelegs around which resembles boxing. This is a black species with white spots and intimidating red on the forearms, found in burnt savannah in the Northern Territory.
They sit upon small burnt termite mounds, blending in seamlessly with the charred surface scattered with white freckles. The red forearms are only visible when the mantis is moving.
Sold as unsexed juveniles

Great service, as always. Unfortunately, the boxing mantis didn’t survive the trip. No fault of Bug Frenzy. They were very helpful with reimbursement & i have now ordered again with them.

Awesome little Mantis, arrived safely and loves its new home. It’s great watching him/her explore the enclosure and take down its pray
