Description
A robust colour form of Australia’s largest centipede species, the NT chocolate can be found in grassy eucalyptus forest in the Northern Territory. Found in and under rotting logs, they wander around at night looking for food. This form is a uniform dark brown colour on the body, this colour darkens as it reaches the head of the animal. The legs are orange and green, the antennae are greyish-green and the terminal legs are orangeish This form reaches 16 cm, while the largest forms (Kuranda and “Dark tiger”, both from FNQ) can grow over 20cm in length.
