Description
Australothele magna is a large curtain-web spider found in southern queensland. These spiders are mostly black with a slight reddish tint, particularly to the chelicerae. They construct large, funnel-like webbed retreats under logs and stones from which they ambush prey. Australothele magna is one of the largest species, growing to about 70mm in legspan and 30mm in body length.
