Description
These introduced snails (originally from the Mediterranean) are found in Southern Australia in large numbers, they spend much of their time in the wild huddled up in their shell with a mucus barrier to prevent desiccation. They emerge after or during heavy rain to feed.
In captivity they should be kept on moist coco peat with little to no ventilation to encourage activity. They will move around and feed when new slices of cucumber or snail food (coming soon) is offered. You can offer cuttlebone or natural chalk as a calcium supplement and to help heal individuals with broken shells.
These snails are insanely variable in appearance, with pure white, marbled and striped individuals.
*Each photo is of an individual snail*
Sold as 5 x unsexed snails.
