Description
Cheiracanthium is a very widespread genus, occurring through most of the world. This is rare for spiders. They are uncommonly kept and this may be due tot he myth that the venom of these spiders (Also called Yellow Sac Spiders) is necrotic and rots flesh. This is mostly false, the large fangs of the males cause a decent sized wound if bitten and if not cleaned properly can become infected. They are easy to keep, hardy and able to be handled easily. This species is from central Queensland and lives on leafy plants, where they build a sac-like sac to sleep in. We recommend our “The Cube” enclosure with the “Jumper” kit-out.
