Description
Hormuridae is a family of Australian scorpions found in northern Australia, from the Kimberley all the way up the east coast to as far as northern NSW, where they inhabit tall trees, rock crevices or wood.
They have very flat bodies and wide, flat claws which enables them to fit in to tight crevices.
This species is from the rainforests of Cairns, FNQ and inhabits wood crevices such as gaps in logs.
This species is average to large for Hormurus, a large individual being about 4cm from head to tail.
