Description
Euoplos regalis is an extremely large, robust trapdoor spider found in a small area of South-east Queensland. These spiders are among Australia’s largest and reach up to 95mm in diagonal legspan. The carapace and legs are bright red and the abdomen is a golden brown, and often somewhat shrivelled. They build burrows with a door in embankments in rainforest habitat.
Warning: These spiders are very defensive, have enormous fangs and are super strong. They can easily bite through plastic containers if provoked so should be treated with respect.
