Description
These large, stocky curtain-web spiders inhabit dry savannah areas of Far-north Queensland. They build large thick curtain webs, often under cooler rocky overhangs or underneath logs.
These spiders are quite timid and very rarely become defensive however are extremely fast and have an unknown degree of toxicity so must not be handled.
These spiders’s enclosures should be kept moist at all times however they also require airflow, so moderate ventilation must be present.
Providing lots of pieces of bark and other natural decorations will help these spiders construct a better web. These spiders, once the web is built are very entertaining at feeding time.
Sold as juveniles about 1cm leg span, eating x-small crickets.
