Description
Lychas variatus is a species of Buthid thicktail scorpion found in northern Nsw and Queensland, inhabiting more moist areas than it’s relative, Lychas marmoreus. They are a more vibrant, darker colour and play dead less often, they can be kept communally.
They grow up to 35mm and show the same sexual characteristics of marmoreus, like the slightly longer tail and pectines of males.
