Description

These very large Trapdoor spiders are found in SEQ. They are Near black with reddish fangs, and very rare in the hobby. They build somewhat thick lids in dense clay soil and adult females can be as big as 90mm in diagonal leg span, and very bulky and strong. These spiders have huge fangs and are very defensive so please be careful, and definitely do not handle them under any circumstances. They are very quick in strike speed, do not underestimate them. We recommend removing the lid of the enclosure once the spider has constructed a door to the burrow to let the top layer of substrate dry out and help the lid have more shape and structure.
