Description

Melon snails are large snails inhabiting tropical forests in Queensland and the Northern Territory. They shelter under logs, rocks and in leaf litter during the day and after rains will emerge to feed on fungi, fruit, vegetables and even a bit of fish flakes. They have a pale brown mantle, long eye stalks and a golden yellow shell.
