Description

Maratus chrysomelas is a small and extremely colourful species of peacock spider. If you’re having trouble seeing the bunny, take the black areas on the abdomen as the ears!

These species are found all over Australia in drier areas and are around the whole year.

About our new versatile Mini Bug Box:

It can be used tall with the swing door at the top or you can lay it on it’s side for critters who needs a bit more running space.  It has a lockable latch and measures 20cm x 12cm x 12cm.  This product will be added as a seperate item to our enclosures section eventually, but at the moment we are offering it as an optional kit for suitable invertebrates. Also, there will be ventilation holes drilled according to the selected kit layout.

Our custom enclosures are all hand assembled – so please understand that there may be some minor imperfections now and again and it is made of perspex which requires special care.

Mini Bug Box Care Tips:

Acrylic can last an eternity with minimal care and maintenance. Acrylic care consists of no more than normal wipe-cleaning to keep it looking new – but care should be taken to avoid scratches.
Acrylic is also stable when exposed to sunlight, so it will not yellow or crack even when used in normal outdoor environments.

Cleaning Acrylic:

Use only a very soft damp cloth when cleaning acrylic surfaces. It is possible to scratch acrylic, so NEVER use any scouring compounds or chemical cleaners such as Windex or other glass cleaners (even if they are environmentally friendly, organic or non-scented). Should anything ever stick to an acrylic surface (such as an adhesive label or gummy substance) do not use any type of solvent.

Never use the same cloth that you clean other household items with – it can retain dirt, grit, and chemical residues that may harm your acrylic items. We recommend using a new or separate cloth for your acrylic care.

CAUTION: Never use window cleaner, ammonia products, or other chemical sprays on acrylic!

We hand assemble these ourselves and thus only have a limited number available each week.
