Bug Frenzy is a family business based in South Australia. All our invertebrates are either captive bred, or sustainably and ethically sourced. We love bugs and want to encourage that love in others, to educate and ensure that these wonderful creatures will be here for generations to come. Why keep insects as pets?
“Why would anyone keep insects or even pet spiders?” you might ask. Personally I love the beautiful, strange shape of insects, their colours, diversity, unusual behaviour and interesting life cycle. And luckily, many other people all over the world discover the fun in keeping insects as pets!
Invertebrates such as praying mantids and stick insects are fascinating and quite practical pets. They come in beautiful shapes and colours. It is fascinating to see the animals hunt, grow, molt, lay eggs and see their methods of camouflage and defenses.
An additional practical advantage, is their modest requirements for housing, care and food. Compared to common pets like cats, dogs, rodents and birds they require less time and space. They are also harmless, allergy-free and their food is less expensive than the food of most commons pets. All this makes them an increasingly popular group of animals to keep as pets, for young and old people alike!

March 26, 2022 This is the only Jumper I've had that is happier on my hand than in its enclosure and very funny, it randomly jumps strait up in the air and then calmly looks around like "what happened" SO FUNNY 🙂
BUT at the same time she easily takes down crickets bigger than she is, WOW!
You want a happy to be handled and very entertaining jumping spider this is a GREAT option.

October 15, 2022 The tiny Striped peacock arrived safe but he's not happy in any enclosure other than a tiny 10cm x 7cm x 5cm clear soap container, one half substrate and the other half nothing, the only place he'll eats his flys, so strange!
Very fast and skittish species probably due to its size and fast metabolism, doesn't really like being handled but too small anyway, very slowly getting used to his new home.
To be expected from some species.

April 12, 2022 Love this little guy/gal already. Package was delayed by 4ish days, at no fault to BugFrenzy, but due to the expert packaging, my spider is still alive and happy. Only wish is that they included a printout with care instructions and maybe even some facts/info on the type of spider/insect it is. Maybe that could be something included in future orders. I think it would be cool to receive that especially for first time owners. But all in all can't wait for this guy/gal to grow.
