Bug Frenzy is a family business based in South Australia. All our invertebrates are either captive bred, or sustainably and ethically sourced. We love bugs and want to encourage that love in others, to educate and ensure that these wonderful creatures will be here for generations to come. Why keep insects as pets?
“Why would anyone keep insects or even pet spiders?” you might ask. Personally I love the beautiful, strange shape of insects, their colours, diversity, unusual behaviour and interesting life cycle. And luckily, many other people all over the world discover the fun in keeping insects as pets!
Invertebrates such as praying mantids and stick insects are fascinating and quite practical pets. They come in beautiful shapes and colours. It is fascinating to see the animals hunt, grow, molt, lay eggs and see their methods of camouflage and defenses.
An additional practical advantage, is their modest requirements for housing, care and food. Compared to common pets like cats, dogs, rodents and birds they require less time and space. They are also harmless, allergy-free and their food is less expensive than the food of most commons pets. All this makes them an increasingly popular group of animals to keep as pets, for young and old people alike!

At first I couldn’t see any springtails and was worried that I set up the enclosure wrong. But sure enough they have multiplied and I now have a thriving culture. Everything was provided to set up the springtails including food, all you have to do is set it up and wait. Very easy to use kit. Thank you.

July 10, 2021 Came in good condition and well packaged as always. The pedeling is missing a terminal leg, however, with the next moult it will grow back so no biggie. I’ve had it for two days now and it hasn’t eaten, perhaps indicating it’s in a pre-moult. It appears to be a heavy burrowing species and it stays hidden away most of the day.. yet to see it at night when it is primarily active

March 20, 2023 This is the only Jumper I've had that is happier on my hand than in its enclosure and very funny, it randomly jumps strait up in the air and then calmly looks around like "what happened" SO FUNNY 🙂
BUT at the same time she easily takes down crickets bigger than she is, WOW!
You want a happy to be handled and very entertaining jumping spider this is a GREAT option.

October 15, 2022 Unfortunately my little peacock spider didn't survive the trip,....although he was well packed & had everything needed for the trip.
Bug Frenzy were great to deal with under the circumstances. 10/10 for customer service & definitely highly recommended.
